Golden Wolves Take Third at Sea Gull Invitational

Quantico, Md. (April 12, 2026) - Alvernia University posted the low team score of the day with a 317 en route to a third place finish at Salisbury's Sea Gull Invitational Sunday afternoon at Green Hill Country Club. 

The Golden Wolves improved 11 shots from round one as a team and finished with a two day total of 645. Alvernia's B team finished in ninth place with a two day total of 690. 

Shawn Williams and Zachary Neuin led the way for the Golden Wolves with top ten finishes. Williams posted a day two score of 75 to finish in solo third place. Neuin posted a 79 in round two and finished in a tie for seventh. 

Williams carded a 39 on the front nine and carded three birdies on the first four holes of the front nine but rattled off five straight pars to cap his front nine. Williams also carded two birdies and five pars on the back nine en route to an even par 36 on the back and posted a three over, 75 on the day. Williams tallied a two day total of 155. 

Neuin posted his best finish of the spring season with a T7 finish and carded a 79 in round two. Neuin tallied a 41 on the front nine and carded five pars but a few bogeys and a big number hampered his round. Neuin turned it around and carded five pars in his first six holes on the back nine and tallied a birdie at the 17th en route to a 38 on the back nine and a 79 on the day and a two day total of 159. 

Chase Smith recorded a round two score of 82 and finished in 21st place. Smith tallied five pars on the front nine to card a 40 on the front and four pars and a birdie on the back but saw some bogeys and big numbers slow his round and card a 42 on the back nine. Smith finished with a two day total of 165. 

Matthew Overholt tallied an 81 on the day and after a front nine 43, Overholt bounced back with a two over, 38, on the back nine. Overholt carded four pars and two birdies on the back nine en route to a 38 on the back and an 81 on the day to finish in a tie for 22nd. Overholt finished with a two day score of 166. 

Kenton Lightburn posted a round two score of 82 and finished in a tie for 32nd place. Lightburn carded ten pars on the day and finished with a two-day score of 169. Brock Mueller carded an 85 on the day and finished in a tie for 34th place. Mueller carded ten pars on the day but bogeys and big numbers hampered his round and saw him card an 85. Mueller finished with a two day total of 170.

Matt Davies posted an 87 on Sunday and finished in a tie for 38th place. Davies carded six pars and one birdie on the day and finished with a two day total of 171. 

Jacob DeWitt finished in 46th place with a two day score of 178 after a round two score of 90. Jakob Chapman carded a 91 on Sunday and finished in 47th place with a total of 180 and Matthew Gagliardi tallied a 98 in round two and finished in 50th place with a two day total of 191. 

The Golden Wolves are back in action next Sunday and Monday when they travel to Lancaster for the F&M Spring Invitational at Bent Creek Country Club.
