Williams Leads Alvernia at Hershey Country Club

Hershey, Pa. (April 2, 2026) - Shawn Williams finished in a tie for second overall to lead Alvernia to a fifth place team finish at the Elizabethtown College Invitational on Thursday at Hershey Country Club.

Alvernia finished in fifth overall with a team score of 325. McDaniel took first place with a team score of 307. McDaniel's Ethan Crabb took low medalist honors with a round of 2-over 73

Williams finished with a round of 4-over 75 to lead the Golden Wolves. Williams fired a 1-over 37 on the front nine. He posted birdies on the 500 yard par five 1st hole and 437 par four 4th. A par on the fifth ignited a string of seven straight pars for Williams before he gave a stroke back on the 12th. Williams played the final stretch at 2-over to finish his day with a 4-over 75.

Kenton Lightburn finished t-12 overall and in second for Alvernia with a round of 8-over 79. Lightburn fired a 40 on the front and a 39 on the back nine. He finished his day with ten total pars - five on each nine.

Jacob DeWitt finished third for Alvernia and t-28 overall with a round of 13-over 84. DeWitt fired a front nine 44 followed by a back nine 40. His round was highlighted by a birdie on the par three 2nd hole. He also carded six pars on the day.

Brock Mueller rounded out Alvernia's counting scores with a round of 87 to finish t-40. Mueller finished his day with four pars - two on each nine - and a birdie on the par four 4th hole.

Jakob Chapman finished as Alvernia's fifth with a round of 90 to finish in t-51. Chapman carded a front nine 42 and a back nine 48. He played the first five holes even with a birdie on the par four 4th. He finished his day with four total pars.

Alvernia is back in action on Saturday at the MAC Preview at Golden Oaks.
