Reading, Pa. (September 8, 2026) — Senior forward, Ava Michael, was recognized as the MAC Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts in the opening week of play as announced by the MAC Tuesday morning.

Michael, the reigning MAC Offensive Player of the Year, led the Golden Wolves to a 1-1 opening week with five total points. Michael netted the game tying goal in the 53rd minute in a 2-1 OT setback to Gettysburg on Tuesday and finished with three total shots, two of which went on goal. Michael then powered the Golden Wolves to a 2-0 victory on the road at Susquehanna with a goal and an assist. Michael broke the scoreless tie in the first three minutes of the game to put the Golden Wolves up 1-0. Michael then assisted teammate Alessandra Stevens with an insurance goal early in the third quarter to lead the Golden Wolves to the two goal victory over Susquehanna. The victory came as Head Coach Cody Savitsky's first of her career and also the first victory over Susquehanna since September of 2008.

Alvernia is back in action for their home-opener tomorrow against Wilke's at 7:00 PM.
