Reading, PA (Oct. 15, 2005) – Senior back Scott Wimsey  (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) scored on a first-half penalty kick and the Knights tacked on two second-half goals as Arcadia University topped Alvernia College, 3-0, Saturday afternoon in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference men’s soccer action at Schlager Memorial Field.

            Wimsey’s penalty kick in the 36th minute put Arcadia (9-2-2, 6-0 PAC) up 1-0, 15 minutes after Alvernia (5-8-1, 4-2) went a man down when freshman Maarten Kootstra (Mt. Penn, PA/Antietam) picked up his second yellow of the match.  The score remained 1-0 at halftime, and the Knights scored twice in a two-minute span in the second half for the 3-0 win.

            Alvernia freshman Richard Kessler (Reading, PA/Reading) made seven saves in net for the Crusaders, who will travel to Wesley College for a PAC match on Wednesday.
