Reading, PA (Oct. 27, 2005) – Senior outside hitter Trish O’Gurek (Summit Hill, PA/Panther Valley) tallied a team-high 20 kills on 45 attempts as Alvernia College knocked off Cedar Crest, 3-1, Thursday evening in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference women’s volleyball action at the Physical Education Center.

            Three of the four games ended in 30-27 scores with Alvernia taking the first two games of the match, 30-27, 30-26.  Cedar Crest fought back to extend the match with a 30-27 decision in the third game, but Alvernia put it away winning by three in the final game.

            Freshman Lauren Crimi (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame) led the team in assists with 39 and four players recorded five or more digs led by O’Gurek and fellow senior Laura Wilson (Rising Sun, MD/Rising Sun) with seven apiece.  Senior Amy Werley (Fleetwood, PA/Brandywine Heights) finished with 12 kills, two assists and a block.
