Keller’s Goal Leads Alvernia Over Misericordia, 1-0

Kessler Picks Up Shutout Win Facing Just One Shot

Box Score

Reading, PA (Oct. 1, 2005) – The Alvernia College defense held College Misericordia to just one shot and freshman Kyle Keller (Mount Penn, PA/Antietam) scored the only goal of the game in the 78th minute as the Crusaders picked up their fourth conference win, 1-0, over the Cougars Saturday afternoon in men’s soccer action at Schlager Memorial Field.

Misericordia’s (5-6, 2-2 PAC) only shot of the game was no on goal so Alvernia goalie Richard Kessler (Reading, PA/Reading) earned the shutout, his second, without being tested.  Keller’s second-half goal was assisted by junior Zach Naylon (Shillington, PA/Governor Mifflin).

The Crusaders (5-6, 4-1 PAC) will travel to Moravian College on Tuesday for a non-conference match and return home on Saturday for another important conference match with Neumann College.
