Aston, PA (Oct. 1, 2005)
       The women's tennis fell to Neumann in PAC play on Saturday, as Neumann came from behind to win  5-4 in Aston, PA.
       After defeating Neumann in straight sets in doubles competition, Neumann's freshman took to the court to lead the Knights to five straight wins, propelling Neumann past the Crusaders in conference play. 
       Alvernia's Megan Weaver (Boyertown, PA/Boyertown) and Neumann's Laura Bodish were the first on the courts at No. 5 singles. Weaver continued the Crusaders streak, defeating Bodish 3-6, 6-4, 0-6 to take a 4-0 lead against the Knights. Unfortunately for Alvernia, Weaver's point would be the last for the Crusaders as Neumann answered with five straight singles wins.
       Junior Sarah Tomlinson defeated Tiffany Wagaman (York, PA/York Catholic)  6-0, 6-1 at No. 1. Ashley Miller downed Heather Leader (Pottstown, PA/Owen Roberts) at the No. 2 spot and Shamira Cannon cruised in the No. 3 position with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Cathy Faust (Richland, PA/ELCO). Teammates Melinda Howell at No. 4, and Rachel Mayer at No. 6 won their first collegiate singles outings in straight sets to round out the 5-4 victory.
