Crimi Sets Ace Record With 10

Reading, PA (Oct. 5, 2005) – Senior outside hitter Trish O’Gurek (Summit Hill, PA/Panther Valley) racked up a match-high 24 kills and freshman Lauren Crimi (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame) set a school record for aces in a four-game match with 10 as Alvernia College topped Penn State-Berks, 3-1, Wednesday evening in non-conference women’s volleyball action at the Physical Education Center.

            PSU forced the fourth game with a 30-28 win in the third game.  O’Gurek found most of her hitting success in the middle with 24 kills and just one error in 42 attempts.  Crimi, also serving as the primary setter for Alvernia, handed out a match-high 38 assists.

            Alvernia will wrap up a quick three-match home stand hosting College Misericordia on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
