Reading, PA (Nov. 22, 2005) - Alvernia College earned their first win of the season over Albright College by a score of 64-59 behind a strong second half shooting effort, in a Tuesday evening match-up at the Physical Education Center.
          After hitting only eight of 22 from the field in the first half, Alvernia regrouped to knock down 52% of their second half attempts, including 17 of 24 from the free throw line.  Freshman Maria Williams (Philadelphia, PA/Padua Academy) connected on two free-throws with 17 seconds left to put Alvernia up 62-59.  Junior Lauren Fortna (Lebanon, PA/Lebanon Catholic) followed with two more from the line with seven seconds left to secure the 64-59 victory.
          Crusader junior Erin Knarr (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson) paced all scorers with 16 points, followed by teammate Mandy Reinhart (Pine Grove, PA/Pine Grove) who connected for 14 points.   
          Leading the way in a game for Albright in a game that was back and forth for most of the second half was Meredith Berger who tallied 11 points on the night.
