Alvernia Falls To Penn State-Berks, 6-3

Weaver Gets A Win At No. 4 Singles

Reading, PA (Sept. 21, 2005) – Alvernia College got two wins in doubles action , but couldn’t hold the lead in singles play during a 6-3 loss to Penn State-Berks Wednesday afternoon in non-conference women’s tennis action at Angelica Park.

            Junior Megan Weaver(Boyertown, PA/Boyertown) picked up a win at No. 4 singles and No. 3 doubles, and the Crusaders (0-5) also got a win at No. 2 doubles, but PSU won five of six singles matches to comeback for the win.

No. 1 – Cambell/Buckley (PSU) def. Wagaman/Faust (Alv), 8-3

No. 2 – Leader/Bader (Alv) def. Stephanie Hunter/Kimbell (PSU), 8-6

No. 3 – Weaver/Martzell (Alv) def. Ferrero/Vargas (PSU), 9-8 (7-4)
