Annville, PA (Sept. 26, 2005) – Sophomore Doug McConnell (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) fired a 6-over par 78 to lead Alvernia College to a 332 team total and 14th place out of 19 teams at the Lebanon Valley College Fall Golf Invitational Monday afternoon at Lebanon Country Club.

            McConnell carded his first two birdies of the season with a 2-over 38 on the front nine and a 40 on the back nine.  Classmate Steve Gerhart (Levittown, PA/Harry S. Truman) shot 79 with three birdies.  The Crusaders will travel to Berkshire Country Club for a tri-match hosted by Albright College on Thursday.
