Reading, Pa. (Oct. 12, 2006) – Alvernia College took a 30-28 win in the opening game, but Albright College stormed back with three straight wins to take a 3-1 decision in non-conference women’s volleyball action Thursday evening at the Bollman Center.
Alvernia (5-7) was led by junior outside hitter Amy Sikorski (Topton, PA/Brandywine Heights) who totaled 16 kills and Jenn Stigura (Barto, PA/Central Catholic) who finished with 11. The Lions (11-17) got a match-high 33 kills from Abbey Reames and 16 from Nikki Gesiskie.
Alvernia sophomore Lauren Crimi (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame) handed out 34 assists and led the team with 12 digs. Five players surpassed double digits in digs for the Lions led by Steph Riccardi who had 33.
Alvernia will return home to face conference foe Arcadia University on Saturday.
