Reading, Pa. (Oct. 14, 2006) – Sophomore Joe Pritiskutch (Pottstown, PA/St. Pius X) covered the five mile course in 30:09 to finish second in the men’s race and Bridget Burger (Lansdale, PA/Lansdale Catholic) finished third in the women’s race to lead Alvernia College to second place finishes in both cross country races Saturday afternoon hosted by Albright College.
Burger has now set the pace for the Crusaders in four straight races while Pritiskutch has been the first Alvernia runner to cross the line in every race of his career. Junior Katie O’Brien (Boothwyn, PA/Garnet Valley) posted a top 10 finish in seventh with Lauren Rocchino (Philadelphia, PA/Franklin Towne Charter) in 13th, Jen Smith (Hershey, PA/Hershey) in 15th, and Seanna Malia (Allentown, PA/Central Catholic) in 18th rounding out the Crusaders in the women’s race.
Three Crusaders finished in close proximity with Currie Mooney (Cream Ridge, PA/Allentown) taking eighth in a time of 33:22, Jeff White (Mine Hill, PA/Dover) 10th in 33:42, and Chris Bachman (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson) 11th in 33:56 in the men’s race. Bryan Otruba (Fleetwood, PA/Fleetwood) was 16th in a time of 36:33 and Joe Campo (York, PA/York Catholic) finished 19th in 38:12.
