Immaculata, Pa. (Oct. 14, 2006) – Four different starters registered one goal and one assist and reserves Janelle Lynch (Macungie, PA/Brandywine Heights) and Lynsey Treadwell (Farmingdale, NJ/Howell) scored two goals each to lead Alvernia College to a 9-1 win over Immaculata University Saturday afternoon in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference field hockey action at Immaculata.

            Senior forward Jessie Titus (Leesport, PA/Schuylkill Valley) opened the scoring 37 seconds into the game and following goals from Christy Miller (Alburtis, PA/Brandywine Heights), Dawn Beiswenger (Denver, PA/Garden Spot), and Megan Novogratz (Allentown, PA/Central Catholic), the Crusaders (13-2, 9-1 PAC) held a 4-0 advantage.

            Lynch tallied her first goal of the game at 13:10 of the first half and Treadwell finished the first half scoring with goals in the 21st and 30th minutes.  Alvernia took 11 of its 19 shots in the first half while the Mighty Macs had just three of their 17 total before the break.

            Alvernia starter Audrey Hoffman (Mertztown, PA/Brandywine Heights) made 14 saves on the day, all in the second half.  Allison Sterner (Reading, PA/Holy Name) scored her second goal of the season for the Crusaders to open the second half scoring and Immaculata spoiled the shutout on a Kati DiNatale goal with 15 minutes left to play.  Lynch closed the scoring in the 61st minute with her four goal of the season.

            Alvernia has four non-conference opponents left on the schedule starting with Tuesday’s game at Moravian College.
