Elizabethtown, Pa. (Oct. 21, 2006) – Sophomore Joe Pritiskutch (Pottstown, PA/St. Pius X) finished 69th of 111 in a time of 21:47 in the men’s race and Bridget Burger (Lansdale, PA/Lansdale Catholic) was 49th of 100 in a time of 17:13 in the women’s race as both Alvernia College teams finished 13th of 14 at the Elizabethtown College Cross Country Invitational Saturday morning.
Pritiskutch continues to be the Crusaders’ front runner, leading the team for the 18th straight race. Burger paced the ladies for the fifth straight week. Sarah Cayliss (Bethel, PA/Home School) finished 60th in the women’s race in 17:37 and Katie O’Brien (Boothwyn, PA/Garnet Valley) covered the 4k track in 18:11 to round out the Crusaders’ top three.
In the men’s race, Jeff White (Mine Hill, PA/Dover) ran the 6k course in 24:02 to finish 98th and Chris Bachman (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson) was 99th in a time of 24:12. Alvernia will compete in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Championship next Saturday hosted by College Misericordia.
