Glenside, Pa. (Oct. 4, 2006) – Arcadia University swept six singles matches and won two of three doubles matches for an 8-1 win over Alvernia College Wednesday afternoon in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference women’s tennis action at Arcadia.

            Alvernia freshmen and former high school teammates Alyssa Schmanek (Pottstown, PA/Pottstown) and Stephanie Penrose (Pottstown, PA/Pottstown) teamed for the Crusaders lone point with an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles.  The Crusaders fell to 1-8 overall and 1-5 in PAC play.

            Alvernia will host Wesley College on Thursday afternoon.
