Reading, Pa. (Oct. 7, 2006) – College Misericordia won nine matches in straight sets to sweep Alvernia College 9-0 Saturday afternoon in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference women’s tennis action at Angelica Park.

            Alvernia scored single game wins in all six singles matches, but could not muster a sustained threat against the Cougars who improve to 9-3 on the season.  Alvernia falls to 2-9 overall and 2-5 in PAC play. Alvernia will face Gwynedd-Mercy University on Sunday in a conference match at Angelica Park.
