Reading, PA (March 24, 2006) – Tom Pierantozzi (Audubon, NJ/Audubon) and Phil Snyder (Easton, PA/Notre Dame) cruised to straight set wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles respectively and combined for a win at No. 1 doubles to lead Alvernia College to a 5-2 win over Penn State Berks Friday afternoon in non-conference men’s tennis action at Angelica Park.

            Alvernia won all three doubles matches to secure the doubles point and William Garceau (Sinking Spring, PA/Exeter) and Mike Allegra (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) also picked up wins in singles play.  The Crusaders will turn right around and get back to the conference schedule hosting Immaculata University on Saturday.
