Alvernia Takes Second Of Four At Neumann

Gerhart Leads Crusaders With 10-Over 82

Concordville, PA (March 27, 2006) -- Sophomore Steve Gerhart (Levittown, PA/Harry S. Truman) shot 10-over 82 to lead Alvernia College to a 342 total and 2nd place out of four teams at the Neumannn College Quad Match Monday afternoon hosted by Concord Country Club.

Gerhart was the only player in the Crusaders lineup to card a birdie.  He posted one at the 334 yard par 4 fifth hole and another on the 521 yard par 5 17th.  Playing in the No. 4 spot for Alvernia, Gerhart opened with a 43 on the front side and closed with a 39.

Neumann College took first place with a score of 313.  College Misericordia finished third at 361, and Gwynedd-Mercy shot 435 for fourth.

Alvernia will return to action on Friday at the Penn State-Berks Tri-Match hosted by Moselem Springs Golf Course.
