Fraker Tallies Three For Crusaders

Reading, PA (April 26, 2006) – College Misericordia scored once in the first quarter and four times in the second to take a 5-2 lead at halftime and matched the Alvernia second half output for an 8-5 win in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference men’s lacrosse action at Schlager Memorial Field.

            Alvernia freshman Tom Fraker (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) scored the first goal of the second quarter to knot the game at 1-1, but the Cougars (5-9, 3-3 PAC) scored four of the next five goals for the three goal lead at the break.

            Sophomore Tom Novak (Pottstown, PA/Pottsgrove) opened the third quarter scoring for the Crusaders (2-14, 1-5 PAC) just over 30 seconds after the faceoff and Fraker tallied 12 seconds later as the hosts cut the gap to one, 5-4.  Misericordia senior Matt Carey (Kennebunk, ME/Kennebunk) scored immediately off the next faceoff and followed with his third and fourth of the game to push the lead up to four goals, 8-4, and Novak scored the final goal of the day for the 8-5 final.

            Alvernia will finish the season with a PAC game at Neumann on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
