Reading, Pa. (Sept. 6, 2006) – Cedar Crest College swept all three doubles points and won four of five singles matches for a 7-1 win over Alvernia College Wednesday afternoon in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference women’s tennis action at Angelica Park.

            Janine Horning (Red Hill, PA/Upper Perkiomen) defeated Colleen Ford at No. 2 singles in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0, and Alyssa Schmanek (Pottstown, PA/Pottstown) was leading Gwyndolyn Rogers at No. 6 singles, but the match was unfinished due to darkness.

            This was the season-opening match for both teams.  Alvernia will travel to Eastern University on Saturday for a PAC match versus the Eagles.
