Allentown, Pa. (Sept. 16, 2006) – Alvernia sophomore Joe Pritiskutch (Pottstown, PA/St. Pius X) finished 17th in a time of 30:15 and Sarah Cayless (Bethel, PA/Homeschool) finished 32nd in a time of 23:25 to lead the Crusaders to a ninth place finish in the men’s race and a 10th place finish in the women’s race at the Mule/Falcon Cross Country Invitational Saturday morning hosted by Cedar Crest College.
Pritiskutch made his second straight top 20 finish and has now led the Crusaders in all 13 races of his career. Cayliss led the women’s team for the first time this season recording her second straight personal best time.
Freshman Currie Mooney (Cream Ridge, PA/Allentown) finished 49th for the Crusaders in the men’s race followed by Chris Bachman (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson) at 62nd, Jeff White (Mine Hill, PA/Dover) in 63rd, Bryan Otruba (Fleetwood, PA/Fleetwood) in 78th, and Joe Campo (York, PA/York Catholic) in 85th.
In the women’s race Bidget Burger (Lansdale, PA/Lansdale Catholic) was right on Cayliss’ heals finishing 33rd in a time of 23:31. Katie O’Brien (Boothwyn, PA/Garnett Valley), appearing in her first race of the season, finished 67th in 25:45, Lauren Rocchino was 97th in 29:07, and Mary Gergits (Allentown, PA/Central Catholic) was 108th in 38:42.
Alvernia will race next Saturday at the Wilmington College Invitational.
