Crusaders Post 30-6 Edge In Shots

Allentown, Pa. (Sept. 20, 2006) – Senior goalie Katie Einsel (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin) made four saves and the offense generated a 30-6 advantage in shots as Alvernia College defeated Cedar Crest College 2-0 Wednesday afternoon in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference women’s soccer action at Cedar Crest.

            Junior Colleen Foley (Turnersville, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) broke through for the first goal of the game in the 21st minute unassisted, and Brandi Light (Myerstown, PA/Tulpehocken) followed with an unassisted goal in the 39th minute to close the scoring.

            Alvernia enjoyed a 12-4 lead in shots over the first half and 18-2 in the second.  The Crusaders (2-2, 2-1 PAC) generated 10 corner kicks in the game, nine of which came after halftime.

            Alvernia will continue the conference schedule on Thursday with a rescheduled game against Eastern University starting at 4:00 p.m.
