Einsel Saves Six For Crusaders

Reading, Pa. (Sept. 21, 2006) – Eastern University tallied goals late in the first half and midway through the second in a 2-0 win over Alvernia College Thursday afternoon in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference women’s soccer action at Schlager Memorial Field.

            The Eagles (5-1, 3-0 PAC) got the first half goal in the 40th minute from Jill DiRenzo assisted by Christine Hickman and Ashley Hackman.  Eastern held the 1-0 advantage into halftime and pushed it to 2-0 in the 74th minute on Nicole Grindle’s second goal of the season.

            Alvernia starter Katie Einsel (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin) played just short of 80 minutes for the Crusaders (2-3, 1-2 PAC) and made six saves.  Danielle Fitzpatrick (Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) played 10 minutes and made two saves.

            Eastern held a 17-2 advantage in shots and an 8-1 edge in corner kicks.  Alvernia is schedule for its third game in four days when it hosts Arcadia University on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
