Bath, Pa. (Sept. 21, 2006) – Junior Doug McConnell (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) and freshman Jeremy Landis (Reading, PA/Central Catholic) both shot seven-over par 78 to lead Alvernia College to a 316 team total and 10th place out of 19 teams at the Moravian College Fall Golf Invitational hosted by Southmoore Golf Course.

            McConnell shot a pair of 39’s on the front and back nines while Landis, who was four over through his first five holes, shot 40-38.  Sophomore Derek Stewart (Bernville, PA/Tulpehocken) shot 79 to give the Crusaders three sub-80 rounds and Will Tonking (Flemington, PA/Hunterdon Central) finished with birdies on the last two holes to shoot 81.

            Susquehanna University finished first with a score of 296, two strokes ahead of second place Franklin & Marshall.

            Alvernia will return to action Monday at the Lebanon Valley Fall Invitational hosted by Lebanon Country Club.
