Ratcliff Leads Shenandoah Past Alvernia, 13-2

Lenahan Saves Six For Crusaders

Reading, Pa. (Mar. 24, 2007) – Senior Justin Ratcliff (Dumfries, VA/Potomac) scored five of his game-high seven goals to lead Shenandoah University to a 13-2 win over Alvernia College Saturday afternoon in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference men’s lacrosse action at Schlager Memorial Field.

            Shenandoah tallied three even strength goals in the first quarter and built a 5-0 lead at the halftime break with two more goals in the second.  Junior Ben Page (Herndon, VA/Herndon) scored the first two and Ratcliff scored his first goal of day midway through the second quarter.

            Shenandoah scored the first three goals of the fourth quarter before Alvernia freshman Chris Baker (Exeter, PA/Exeter) put the hosts on the board with a goal assisted by Sean Cullen (Lincoln Park, NJ/Boonton) at 1:24 of the third.  Baker scored the Crusaders’ second goal of the game with 5:54 left in the game.

            Alvernia freshman Mark Lenahan (New Providence, NJ/New Providence) made six saves in net for the Crusaders and sophomore Ryan Richard (Frankford, DE/Sussex Tech) finished the final six minutes and made four saves.

            Alvernia will continue the conference schedule on Monday when it hosts Neumann College at 3:30 p.m.
