Reading, Pa. (Mar. 26, 2007) – Seven different players scored at least one goal led by junior Tom Novak (Pottstown, PA/Pottsgrove) who tallied a game-high six to lead Alvernia College to a 16-3 win over Neumann College Monday afternoon in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference men’s lacrosse action at Schlager Memorial Field.

            Alvernia finished one goal short of a team record for goals posting five in the first quarter, three in the second, and four each in the third and fourth quarters.  Junior Tim Marcinek (Philadelphia, PA/LaSalle) led the team with four assists and Novak handed out three.

            Freshman goalie Mark Lenahan (New Providence, NJ/New Providence) made eight saves in net for the Crusaders.  Sixteen different players recorded at least one ground ball led by senior defenseman Nick Yando (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield) who gathered seven.

            Sophomore Tom Fraker (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) scored four goals for the Crusaders.  Alvernia scored 17 goals last season in a 17-2 win over Hood College.  Alvernia will play DeSales University on Wednesday in non-conference action.
