Eastern cut the gap to one with two runs in the second inning on two walks and a single aided by a fielding error, but Alvernia got those runs right back in the second on back-to-back, two-out RBI base hits from DeBarberie and Lutz.
Eastern scored single runs in the fifth and seventh innings, but Alvernia put the game out of reach with three runs in the bottom of the seventh.
