Reading, Pa. (Apr. 10, 2007) – Alvernia College once again received contributions from the heart of the lineup with wins at No. 2 and 3 doubles and Nos. 2-5 singles for a 6-3 win over Arcadia University Tuesday afternoon in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference men’s tennis action at Angelica Park.

            Senior David Emkey (Wyomissing, PA/Holy Name) and junior Dave Schaeffer (Pottstown, PA/Pottstown) teamed to earn an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles and juniors Phil Snyder (Easton, PA/Notre Dame) and Kyle Levengood (Fleetwood, PA/Brandywine Heights) took an 8-2 decision at No. 3 doubles.

            All four players returned to the courts for additional victories in singles play.  Emkey dropped the first set at No. 2 before storming back with 6-1, 6-1 wins in the second and third sets.  The rest cruised to straight set wins with Snyder winning at No. 3 6-1, 6-3, Levengood at No. 4 6-1, 6-0, and Schaeffer at No. 5 6-3, 6-3.

            Alvernia will host the University of Scranton for a non-conference match on Wednesday.
