York, Pa. (Sept. 21, 2009) - Junior keeper Kirsten Kelley (Kirkwood, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) stopped 15 shots for Alvernia University (2-7) in a 6-0 loss at York College (6-1) Monday afternoon in non-conference women's soccer action.

The Spartans scored quickly getting a pair of goals in the first six minutes of play, but Kelley held them off the board for almost the next 60 minutes of play before a string of four goals in nine minutes put the game out of reach.

York split time between a pair of keepers who made one save to record the shutout.

Alvernia travels to DeSales on Saturday for a non-conference match-up with the Bulldogs.
