Kelli McIntyre (Orwigsburg, Pa./Blue Mountain) scored a game-high 21 points to pull within 10 points of 1,000 for her career Tuesday evening in a 97-63, non-conference loss at Moravian College (16-2).
Moravian opened up an early seven point lead and pushed the gap to 15 points, 27-12 midway through the opening frame. McIntyre and senior
Joanna Graber (Manalapan, N.J./Notre Dame), who finished with 20, combined for 12 points over the next four minutes as the Crusaders ran off a 14-2 run to cut the gap to three.
Moravian answered with four straight points and 17 of the last 22 in the half to build the lead back to 15 points at halftime, 46-31.
After an exchange of buckets to open the second half, the Greyhounds scored 10 straight and cruised to the victory.
Moravian put four players in double figures led by
Jessica Foran, who totalled 18. The Greyhounds have now won three straight in the series and are 3-1 overall against Alvernia.
Alvernia will travel to Neumann University on Thursday before returning to conference games Saturday against Elizabethtown.
