Feb. 15: Albright @ Alvernia

Reading, Pa. (Feb. 14, 2011) - Albright College travels cross town to face Alvernia University in a basketball doubleheader Tuesday evening with playoff ramifications in both games.  Read the full story for all relevant information including parking, seating, and even what to wear.

Parking:  Anyone -- except handicapped -- coming in for either game of the doubleheader will be directed to park in the upper parking lots above the student center.  There will be shuttle service to the gym and back.  The Alvernia shuttle (either the maroon van or the white mini-bus) will leave the lot and the gym every 5-10 minutes.  There will be no designated pick-up spot in the lots, the shuttle will drive through the lot and pick up anyone waiting.

Tickets:  Tickets, in the form of a hand stamp for re-entry purposes, will be required for everyone except those with a league pass or Alvernia ID.

Seating:  There will be a designated area for visitor seating behind the visitor bench.  There will also be designated areas for Alvernia students and Alvernia faculty and staff.

What to wear:  Everyone is encouraged to wear white in support of the Crusaders.  The first 300 students in the door with Alvernia ID will receive a free t-shirt.

Tuesday night will be the 38th and 39th meeting all-time between the two Reading-based schools.  The Crusaders hold a 26-11 combined record entering Tuesday with the women's team boasting a 16-2 record against the Lions.  Earlier this season the Crusaders swept a doubleheader at Albright.  The women opened up the night with a 70-58 win and the men capped it winning 50-44.

In the women's game, Alvernia will move one step closer to its 21st straight playoff appearance with a win.  The Crusaders are one game ahead of Elizabethtown for the fourth and final playoff spot with two games to go. 

In the men's game, Alvernia needs one win or a loss from Lebanon Valley to secure the top seed through the playoffs which start for both teams next Wednesday.
