Reading, Pa. (Apr. 30, 2016) - Lebanon Valley College (6-11-1, 3-3-1) got off to a 2-1 lead after doubles play and held on for a 5-4 win over Alvernia University (5-10, 3-4) Saturday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth men's tennis action at Governor Mifflin Courts.
With the win, the Dutchmen claim the #4 seed in the upcoming conference championships and will travel to top-seeded Messiah College for a semifinal match.
Lebanon Valley started the day with a pair of wins in doubles play taking an 8-2 decision at No. 2 and an 8-6 win at No. 3. Alvernia earned the point for No. 1 doubles when
Luke Hangen and
Jacob Conapitski teamed together for an 8-3 win.
Hangen followed up with an impressive straight-set win at No. 1 singles,
Reid Hoff had a come-from-behind win at No. 4, and Todd Under earned a win at No. 6 singles.
