Spartans Down Golden Wolves

York, Pa. (April 25, 2026) - Alvernia University (1-10, 0-5) fell to York College (2-11, 1-4), 7-0, Saturday afternoon in a MAC Commonwealth men's tennis match at York. 

York secured the doubles point to start the match after the doubles pairing of Ian Bartles and Jason Lutz defeated Luke Brisbois and Troy O'Malley in the #1 match. The Golden Wolves then forfeited the #3 doubles match to give the Spartans the doubles point. The doubles pairing of Lucas Montello and Duncan McDowell took down Parker Smith and Chase Fronczkiewicz from York in the #2 doubles match, 6-3. 

Montello fell in the #1 singles match to York's Drew Heinzelmann, 6-2, 6-2. Luke Brisbois dropped the #2 singles match to Parker Smith, 6-3, 6-3 and O'Malley fell to Lutz in the #3 singles match, 6-2, 6-2. 

McDowell fell to Bartles in the #4 singles match, 6-0, 6-0, and the Golden Wolves forfeited the #5 and #6 singles matches to secure the 7-0 victory for York. 

The loss to the Spartans ended the spring season for the Golden Wolves.
