Reading, Pa. (Oct. 3, 2026) — Alvernia Men's Tennis (1-0) opened up the fall season with a 4-3 victory over Penn State Berks (1-3) on Saturday afternoon in non-conference tennis action at Berks.

Alvernia dropped No. 1 doubles as Lucas Montello and Cole Stuchko fell, 6-2. Joshue Avila and Andrew Whitelock won No. 2 doubles, 6-4. However, a forfeit by Alvernia at No. 3 doubles cost them the available point for doubles play as the Lions took a 1-0 lead into singles.

The Golden Wolves then went 2-2 in singles play with Penn State Berks forfeiting the No. 5 and No. 6 singles matches. Among the two victories for the Golden Wolves were Andrew Whitelock and Joshue Avila.

The Golden Wolves are back in action October 17 at home against Johnson & Wales University Charlotte.
