Reading, Pa. (Sept. 27, 2016) - Alvernia University (3-1) got wins at No. 1 and 3 doubles and No. 1, 5, and 6 singles for a 5-4 win over Susquehanna University (4-1) Tuesday afternoon in non-conference men's tennis action at Angelia Park.
Luke Hangen and
Reid Hoff teamed for an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles and
Jimmy Souder and
Todd Unger posted an 8-4 win at No. 3 to put the Crusaders up 2-1 after doubles play.
Hangen followed with an impressive 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles then Unger and
Antonio Gaetani both earned tie-breaker wins in their first sets at No. 5 and 6 singles respectively before closing out with identical 6-4 scores in the second set.
Alvernia will hosted Penn State-Harrisburg next Tuesday before the MAC Individual Championships the following weekend in Wilkes-Barre.
