Aston, Pa. (Mar. 21, 2017) - Alvernia University (6-2) won its third straight match beating Neumann University (0-1) by a score of 8-1 Tuesday afternoon in non-conference men's tennis action at Neumann.
Alvernia jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles play with the No. 3 team of Jimmy Sauder and
Antonio Gaetani pulling off a 9-7 win.
Luke Hangen needed an 11-9 win in the third set at No. 1 singles to get a win for Alvernia at the top of the lineup. Alvernia got straight set wins at No. 3, 4, and 6 singles with Sauder also needing three sets for a win at No. 5.
Alvernia continues the non-conference schedule hosting Gwynedd-Mercy University on Saturday.
