Golden Wolves Compete at Northeast Duals

Erie, Pa. (Dec. 4, 2022) - Alvernia University Women's Wrestling went 1-3 on Sunday to take eighth place at the Northeast Duals, hosted by Gannon University. 

Alvernia went 0-2 in pool play with 39-0 and 50-0 losses to Elmira and Sacred Heart, respectively. The Golden Wolves then fell to Ursinus, 29-10, in the first round of the 7th-9th place matches. The Golden Wolves capped off the day with a 30-15 win over Western New England to take eighth place.

Outside of forfeits, Andrea Wilmoth recorded Alvernia's only win of the day. She pinned Ursinus' Cali Kolmer in 23 seconds at 170 lbs to pick up five points for Alvernia in the 29-10 setback to the Bears.

Sacred Heart went on to win the Northeast Duals with a 25-20 win over Gannon.

Alvernia is back in action on Sunday at the Nassau Open in New York.
