BOX SCORE Immaculata, Pa. (Sept. 14, 2022) - Immaculata University (1-1) edged out a 5-4 win over Alvernia University (0-1) on Wednesday evening in non-conference men's tennis action at Immaculata. 

The Golden Wolves trailed narrowly, 2-1, after doubles action before Alvernia tied it up at 4-4 through five of the six doubles matches. The match came down to #5 singles where Immaculata was able to pick up its final point on a tiebreaker set.

Alvernia's only doubles point came off the duo of Lucas Berger and Jayden Lewis, who took #1 doubles by an 8-5 decision.

Straight-set wins by Lewis and Thomas Figurelli at #2 and #3 singles, respectively, allowed Alvernia to take a lead on the match, 3-2.

The Mighty Macs retook the lead, 4-3, with wins at #1 and #6 singles.

Alvernia evened the match back up at 4-4 with a win by Shane Kerns at #4 singles on a tiebreaker set.

The match came down to #5 singles with Derrick Boltz playing for the Golden Wolves. Boltz nearly escaped with the win, but Immaculata came back to take it on a tiebreaker as Immaculata came away with the 5-4 match win.

Men's Tennis is back in action on Sunday with a home match against Arcadia.
