Reading, Pa (March 12, 2024) - Ramapo College (3-3) scored nine runs in the final five innings en route to the 13-4 victory over Alvernia University (7-5) Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference baseball matchup in Angelica Park.
The Roadrunners posted four runs in the second inning but the Golden Wolves bounced back with three of their own in the bottom of the fourth to make it a 4-3 game after four. Ramapo then responded with five runs in the fifth and four runs in the sixth to take a 13-3 lead. Alvernia tallied a lone run in the bottom of the eighth but it was not enough as the Roadrunners secured the 13-4 victory.

How it Happened
- The Roadrunners got things going with a bases clearing double in the top half of the second to make it a 3-0 game.
- An RBI single wrapped up the four run inning for Ramapo and held a 4-0 lead.
- Ben Houghton got the Golden Wolves on the board in the home half of the fourth after an error on a line drive allowed Matt Edwards to score and make it a 4-1 game.
- Garrett Hunter then ripped an RBI single down the right field line to plate Houghton and cut the deficit in half, 4-2.
- Timmy Hitchcock then pulled the Golden Wolves within one after a failed pickoff attempt at first allowed Hitchcock to steal home and make it a 4-3 ballgame.
- Ramapo bounced back with back to back RBI triples in the top of the fifth and an RBI double to extend the lead to 7-3. A two run shot to left put Ramapo up 9-3.
- Ramapo then put up four more runs in the top of the sixth inning after an RBI double and a three run homer made it a 13-3 game in favor of the Roadrunners.
- The Golden Wolves put up one more run in the bottom of the eighth when Hitchcock tallied an RBI groundout to make it 13-4.
