How it Happened
  • Messiah got on the board first when Drew Hurst homered to right center to make it 1-0 Falcons.
  • The Falcons extended their lead to three in the fifth inning after a sacrifice fly by Dylan Beard and an RBI single to right by Hurst to make it a 3-0 ballgame.
  • Messiah put up a four spot in the top of the sixth inning after a two run homer to dead center made it a 5-0 game. The Falcons then tacked two more on in the inning after an Alvernia error allowed a run to score and a bases loaded hit by pitch forced in Messiah's seventh run and made it 7-0.
  • The Golden Wolves grabbed two back in the home half of the seventh after Timmy Hitchcock singled into left center, he then advanced to second on the throw and Bobby Hansen was able to score after a throwing error.
  • RJ Emrich then came up and singled to left center to score Hitchcock and make it a 7-2 ballgame.
  • Alvernia had runners in scoring position in the eighth inning but could not get any more runs across as the Falcons took the 7-2 victory.
