Felix Leads Golden Wolves on Day Two of the MAC Championships

Felix Sets New PR, Takes Home Gold in Long Jump

Chester, Pa (May 3, 2024) - Shinelle Felix took home gold in the Long Jump to lead Alvernia University on day two of the MAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Widener University.

Felix set a new college best at the championships with a 5.76m mark to secure first team All-MAC honors. This is Felix's four straight year earning All-MAC honors in the long jump.

The women's 4x100m relay team of Felix, Giavanni Gibson, Elisabeth Schwarz and Al'liyah McCloud qualified for the finals with a season best time of 50.38.

Giavanni Gibson recorded a new college best in total points in the Heptathlon with 3,269 and finished in fourth place. Gibson recorded a third place finish in the 800m (2:37.52 - PR), a fifth place finish in the long jump (4.76m - PR) and a sixth place finish in the javelin (17.21m).

Caitlin Sternberg qualified for the finals in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.09 which is also her college best time.

Schwarz posted a 100m time of 12.64 to advance to the finals tomorrow and also qualified for the finals in the 200m with a 25.94 time.

The Golden Wolves are at Widener tomorrow for the final day of the MAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
