Anyia Leads Golden Wolves at Rust Buster

Reading, Pa. (Dec. 6, 2025) - Alvernia Women's Track and Field sophomore Britney Anyia had two first place finishes to lead Alvernia in its 2025-26 season-opener at the Alvernia Rust Buster hosted at the Tom and Helen Flynn Plex.

Anyia took first place in both the high jump and long on Saturday. Anyia cleared 1.55m meters in the high jump to tie her personal-best. She also hit a mark of 5.18m in the long jump to take first. Angelise Rodriguez took second place in the high jump with a mark of 1.45m and took third in the long jump with a mark of 4.52m.

Maria Skulski and Alex Ficalora both set new personal-records in the shot put for Alvernia. Skulski took eighth with a mark of 8.76m and Ficalora took 13th with a mark of 7.24m

On the track, Brooke Hall set a new personal-record in the 60m hurdles with a time of 11.23 seconds in the prelims. She then took third place overall with a time of 11.65 seconds in the final. Alvernia's Distance Medley Relay team of Sarina Neiswender, Julia Polaski, Paige Jerrahani, Ashley McClintock took second place with a time of 14:26.66. The Women's 4x200m relay team of Giavanni Gibson, Britney Anyia, Brooke Hall, and Samantha Wallace took second with a time of 1:54.42.

Alvernia has off for the holidays and will return to action on Saturday, January 17 for the Alvernia Winter Invitational.
