Golden Wolves Take Ninth at Golden Bear Invitational

Reading, Pa. (Nov. 3, 2025) - Alvernia Women's Bowling took ninth place at this weekend's Golden Bear Invitational, hosted by Kutztown University at Berks Lanes in Sinking Spring, PA.

Alvernia went 2-2 on day one of the invitational, but dropped all four baker matches on Sunday going into the final bracket matches.

The Golden Wolves took on Wilmington University for ninth place, and Alvernia won the best of seven, 4-3. Alvernia took the first two matches, 176-145 and 165-141. But, Wilmington tied it up at 2-2 with wins in the next two matches, then took the 3-2 lead with a 192-107 win in the fifth match. Alvernia then evened things back up at 3-3 with a 182-159 win in the sixth match, then took ninth place with a 154-150 win in the decisive seventh match.

Mia Siminitus finished in eighth overall as an individual with an average score of 188.2 across the five traditional games played. She had a high score off 226 in Alvernia's 841-715 win over Chestnut Hill on Saturday.

Kutztown took first place overall, going 7-2 in the traditional and baker matches before defeating Dominican University, 5-0, in the best of seven baker matches on Sunday afternoon.

Full results from the weekend are below. Alvernia is back in action on Saturday at the St. Vincent College Pat Lacey Memorial Tournament.
