Golden Wolves Split at Arcadia

Glenside, Pa. (Nov. 9, 2025) - Alvernia Women's Wrestling (1-1) went 1-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Arcadia University Tri-Match.

The Golden Wolves dropped their first contest of the day, 29-21, to McDaniel. But, the Golden Wolves bounced back with a 32-16 win over Arcadia to close out the day.

After a trading of five points apiece in the opening match against McDaniel, Alvernia took an 11-9 lead on a 28-second fall by Sophie Sharp. Alvernia then followed that with a fall by Alana Durham to make it a 16-9 match. But, the Green Terror answered with a pair of falls of their own to take a 19-16 lead. Alvernia grabbed the lead back, 21-19, on a late fall by Elizabeth Adeboka at 160. But, McDaniel won via fall in the final two bouts of the match to take a 29-21 win.

Alvernia trailed 4-0 to Arcadia early, but a win via fall for Grace Molloy at 110 followed by a technical fall win by Remiah Rivera at 117 gave Alvernia the 9-5 lead. Alvernia then got five more on a late first period fall by Sophie Sharp at 124 to make it a 14-5 match, and the Golden Wolves took a 24-5 lead after two wins by forfeit. The Knights got five back with a fall at 145, but Alvernia scored the next eight points as Adebola won by a 5-2 decision, and Macenzie Hunter won by a fall at 180. The Knights took the final bout, but Alvernia secured the 32-16 win.

Alvernia is back in action on Sunday at the Wilkes Open.
