Reading, Pa. (December 14, 2025) - Mackenzie Hunter and Elizabeth Adebola both recorded first place finishes in their respective weight classes to lead Alvernia University to a fourth place team finish at the Golden Wolves Open Sunday afternoon in women's wrestling action on Alvernia's Jack McCloskey Court in the Physical Education Center. 

The tournament was the first open or invitational style tournament that Alvernia Women's Wrestling team has hosted in program history. 13 teams participated in the open tournament and Felician University took home first place team honors with 25 points. 

How it Happened 

• Elizabeth Adebola recorded a first place finish in the 160 pound bracket and recorded four wins on the day. Adebola recorded two straight pins in the round of 16 and the quarterfinals with pins over Malia Nguyen in 2:15 and Kendra O'Brien in just 52 seconds to advance to the semifinals. Adebola then posted a victory by fall over Molly Winters in 1:02 to advance to the finals. Adebola recorded a fourth pin of the day with a pin over Kaylee Anderson in 1:33 to secure the 160 pound title. 
• Macenzie Hunter also tallied a first place finish in the 180 pound bracket and posted three wins on the day en route to the title. Hunter posted a pin over Kristen Langelotti in just 1:14 before taking down Shaelie Young by fall in 3:44 to advance to the 180 pound title bout. Hunter then posted a third straight pin in the final with a VFA over Riley Wentlent in 2:17 to secure first place honors. 
• Remiah Rivera posted a second place finish in the 110 pound bracket and posted a pin over Yenyia Terry to start her day and punch her ticket to the 110 pound final. Rivera then fell in the final to Ellnor Underwood from Felician by tech fall, 10-0 to secure second place honors. 
• Alana Durham took fourth in the 124 pound bracket and started her day with back to back pins to advance to the semifinal bout. Durham then fell to Lillian Zaku-Ramos by pin in the semi to fall to the consi-semis. Durham then posted a pin over Kara Rosado in the consi-semi bout in 3:14 to advance to the 3rd place bout but she would drop the third place match to Richele Reyes by VSU, 10-0 to take fourth place. 
• Ahnika Hoover rounded out the place finishers for the Golden Wolves with a fourth place finish in the 138 pound bracket. Hoover started her day with a VFA over Alyssa Landrum in just 22 seconds but then fell in the semifinals to Cora Hughes by tech fall, 10-0 to drop to the consi-semis. Hoover then bounced back with a victory by fall over Kate Egan to advance to the 3rd place match but then fell to Alex Graffius by fall to finish in fourth place. 
• Sophie Sharp recorded three wins on the day in the 117 pound bracket and tallied a pin over Taylor Mazzoni, a 12-1 tech fall over Domenica Fiallos and a decision over Rebecca Ridling, 7-2. 
• Abbigail Kohl tallied two pins at 138 pounds, Kathryn Berger also tallied two pins at 145 pounds and Sydney English recorded two pins in the 180 pound bracket for the Golden Wolves. 

Up Next 

• The Golden Wolves take the next month off for winter break and are back in action in the new year on January 10th when they travel up to Misericordia for a MAC dual against the Cougars at 1:00 PM.
