Grantham, Pa (March 14, 2025) - Alvernia University (7-6, 0-1) dropped a MAC Commonwealth baseball championship rematch to Messiah University (5-7, 1-0) 16-3, Friday evening in Grantham. 

The Falcons held a 6-3 lead in the sixth inning before posting a ten run sixth inning to secure the 16-3 victory. 

How it Happened 

• The Falcons jumped on the board first with three runs in the home half of the second inning after a bases loaded walk and two wild pitches allowed three runs to score and put the Falcons up 3-0 early. 
• The Golden Wolves responded with two runs in the top of the third inning after an RBI groundout by Jake Chapman scored a run and a Timmy Hitchcock solo homer to left center pulled Alvernia within one, 3-2. 
• Messiah bounced back with a solo homer in the bottom of the third and then a two run shot to left field to push the lead to four, 6-2. 
• The Golden Wolves grabbed one back in the top of the fourth after RJ Emrich grounded out but was able to score Jack Zabarsky to make it a 6-3 ballgame. 
• The Falcons then recorded a ten run sixth inning and shut down the Golden Wolves in the final three at bats to secure the 16-3 victory over Alvernia.
