Julia Franklin and
Sydney Bradley earned Academic All-MAC honors for their performances on the ice and in the classroom during the 2024-25 season, as announced by the Middle Atlantic Conference on Tuesday.
The MAC sports information directors nominate and vote for the Academic All-MAC teams, giving 50 percent weight on both academic success and athletic success. A student-athlete must have a spring semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher to be eligible for the award.
Bradley, a senior who just earned her degree in Forensic Science, and Franklin, a senior who just earned her degree in biology, are two of ten women's ice hockey student-athletes to earn Academic All-MAC honors this season.
Bradley was the MAC Defensive Player of the Year and a First Team ALl-MAC defender. She capped off career earning Third Team All-American honors and was a finalist for the Laura Hurd Award - given annually to the top Division III Women's Ice Hockey player. Bradley finished her senior campaign playing in all 26 games. She scored eight goals, added 11 assists, and finished the season with a +23 goal differential. This is Bradley's second Academic All-MAC honor.
Franklin was a First Team All-MAC honoree at forward. She led the MAC with 22 assists on the season and had a MAC-leading .88 assists per game over 25 games played. She also had four goals on the year and led Alvernia with 26 points. She finished the season with a +17 goal differential. This is Franklin's second Academic All-MAC honor.
