Alvernia Takes 13th at Mount Shootout

Mount Joy, Pa. (Feb. 8, 2026) - Alvernia Women's Bowling took 13th place at the three-day Mount St. Mary Mount Shootout in Mount Joy, PA this weekend.

The Golden Wolves went 2-8 in the qualifying rounds on Friday and Saturday, and followed that with a 2-1 performance in the Sunday bracket play to secure a 13th place finish.

Friday's Baker matches were highlighted by an 897-480 win over Wagner College in round four. Alvernia's highest team score of the day came the following match with a score of 907. But, Maryland Eastern Shore posted a 1,067 to take the match.

Alvernia's start to Saturday's traditional matches came with a 974-951 upset win over #23 Kutztown University. Alvernia narrowly missed out on its second win of the day, falling to Morgan State by just ten pins in the third match of the five-match slate.

Alvernia's 2-8 performance in qualifying play seeded the Golden Wolves at 13th place going into best of seven bracket play on Sunday. Alvernia started Sunday with a 4-0 win over Wagner, but fell to Howard, 4-1, in round two. The Golden Wolves then defeated Wagner 4-0 for the second time of the day to secure 13th place.

Alvernia is back in action next weekend for AMCC Round Robin #2. The Golden Wolves will host this Round Robin at Hiester Lanes.
