Meryn Bellacima were named Alvernia Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week of March 1 - March 8, 2026. This week's Alvernia Athletes of the Week are presented by Visions Federal Credit Union.
Jimmy Sparacio recorded 17 points in a 2-0 week for Alvernia. Sparacio finished the week with ten goals and another seven assists. He accounted for 10 of Alvernia's 29 goals scored on the week, and 17 of Alvernia's 49 points recorded. He also collected 15 ground balls across two games. In a 16-15 overtime win over King's on Wednesday, Sparacio recorded six goals and five assists for an 11 point game. His 11 points marked the most scored in a game by an individual for Alvernia since 2019. He had 10 shots on goal and ten ground balls. In a 13-7 win over Neumann on Saturday, Sparacio recorded another four goals and two assists. He had nine shots on goal and five ground balls.
Meryn Bellacima led the Golden Wolves at the plate during their spring break trip to Florida. Bellacima started all ten games and posted a .400 average across 25 at bats. She went 10-for-25 with a double and five RBIs. She also scored eight runs, walked four times and struck out just once. Bellacime had four multi-hit games, including a 2-for-3 game with two RBIs against Simmons. She also went 2-for-3 against Allegheny with three runs scored. Bellacima had 11 putouts in the field on the week as well.
Men's Lacrosse is back in action on Wednesday hosting McDaniel. Softball returns to the field on Tuesday at Ursinus.
